  2. A radial pattern is centered on a 
  3. single point. One type of radial pattern uses a number of pie shaped modules, twenty for instance, that evenly divide the 360-degree rotation into eighteen-degree wedge shapes (360/20 = 18 degrees). The pleasing, kaleidoscopic pattern that results has amazed children for hundreds of years. Another version is based on a system of concentric circles and evenly-spaced, converging rays. Modules are placed at the intersections where the circles and rays meet. This yields a star-like arrangement of modules.
